Week of Firsts

- My first 6 hour sleep shift

- My first trip to the mall with Mommy, Nana, Kris, Logan, & Kaden

- My first trip to Hobby Lobby and Petsmart

- My first bath (ok maybe 2nd I cant remember but thought I would note it anyways) WITHOUT crying during the washing of my hair during bathtime. (with Bogie of course, with all my stays over at their house he is becoming a pro at this.

Firsts for Mommy and Nana:

- Took a walk with the stroller outside with Casey
- Figured out the stroller :) Both ways...folding and unfolding as well as putting in the car seat correctly INTO the stroller...ok well after Kris's help...so we had it backwards.

We can't be perfect ALL the time! Heehee

My Week So Far

We are staying at Nana and Papa's house while my Dad is away in Ct. My mom became deathly ill with the stomach flu on Sunday night so we rose early with daddy and headed over to rest and get some help. While my mom recovered Nana and Papa were very helpful.

I was a little hellraiser on Monday night, and kept my mom awake from 12:15 to 2:45 in the morning doing the rocking monkey hold. When my mom could no longer take it anymore she had to knock on Nana's door and ask for help. She was exhausted and needed her rest (probably due to some magic pill Nana gave her:) )
Nana did the sky drops to relieve any potential gas about 5 times and I settled onto her chest to sleep on the lazy boy. AFTER giving my mom almost 3 hours of hell, Nana settled me in 10 minutes. Very nice, huh? But anyways, forget that Nana can't sleep on her back, OR on a lazy boy...but after about and hour or so we laid in the "grandkids playroom" and slept until about 5:45 or so when Bogie (that is Papa's nickname because everyone always says "let me hold casey before Papa bogarts her for the evening!!!!!") got up to go to work. Tuesday and Wednesday night I was a dream, however Wednesday from Noon until 7:30pm she probably slept 30 minutes. BUT...when she went to sleep finally she slept till 2 am! 6 hours! Awesome!!

Today is Thursday and I am currently being very good and sleeping on Bogie's lap, in fact as I look up from typing they are BOTH sleeping. I am very hard work.

But per our agreement which now includes new shoes as I have almost outgrown mine, and cash rewards (inflation and spiking gas costs included) I am going to be good this evening.

At least for Bogie anyways.

I wonder when Daddy is coming home.....hmmmm... I have grown since he has been gone, and have given my mom a roller coaster ride this week! Life is Fun! :)

What's Happening

Casey had another weight check today and she is 8.8 pounds. Almost an ounce a day. Dr Addy is very pleased, now we dont need to go back until her 2 month appt on august 1. She gets all her shots then. :( Babies should double their weight by 5 months or so.

Other things. Joe is away in salt lake city this week for his new job at 3m. He also will be away all next week in conneticut. I LOVE getting up all night for the feedings, but it's fine so far. I am staying with Nana and Papa who have been a great help. Supposedly dad has an agreement with casey about not crying, and so far it's been ok. She is sleeping through her "meltdown" so far.

She did, however lose her paci in the car on the way home and WAILED. Dad would not have been pleased :)

She is one month old on Friday, and I am feeling so much better. I wish we could go out and do things during the day but it is so hot. And her meltdown time has been at 10:30pm so Joe and I usually took her out in the stroller after the sunsets at about 8pm. But so far (cross your fingers) going to be by 9 is helping her sleep through the crankiness, so we may have to stick with this routine. I'll be glad when Joe is home for good and we establish a real routine.

Also, we got out her playmat for her "awake" time which she seems to enjoy for short stretches at a time. Tummy time as well on the boppy. She is a strong little girl, already holding her head up for good stretches.

Uh oh...she calls right now :) More later

2 week checkup

Casey had her two week checkup on Tuesday June 3.

Her head measurement was 34 1/2 cm.
Weight 7.9 she was in the 25th percentile. (she is a lightweight) UH OH
Height was 20 1/4 and she was in the 50th percentile.

She weighed 7.9 pounds. Dr Addy wanted her back up to her hospital weight by now so we had another weight check today. We fed her like crazy and even with 2 poopy diapers this morning (we told her to wait till AFTER the appt to go number 2 to keep her weight up) she weighed 7.135, she gained 4 oz's :) Now we have to come back in another 2 weeks for another weight check, I have no idea what that magic number is. For now all the books say that once she gets back to hospital weight you dont have to keep up the regimented every 3 hour feedings, as long as she is getting about 20 to 24 oz's a day or so, and can sleep at night as long as she let's you. I think we will experiment with that tonight. Will let you know how it goes.

Then we setup a 2 month appt on August 1st where she gets shots ;( That will not be fun.

Joe leaves for Salt Lake City, Ut on June 16-19 for New Employee Orientation for his new job at 3M
THEN...
somewhere in Conneticut the 23-26 for a meet and greet of the new employees.
Casey will miss him, they are sleeping buds now. I practically have to peel her off of Joe for her night feedings.

It's going to be interesting to see how it goes.

Btw...she is getting bigger she lost her umbilical cord earlier this week! She will be getting a job in no time :)
