9.5 Months

Casey had her 9 month checkup
STATS:
Height: 28.5 inches (75%)
Weight: 19.5 (50-75%)
Head Circumf(50%)

Dr Addy was very pleased with her progress.

Everything is going well lately...she is waving like crazy, playing peek a boo. Taking her first steps unassisted (does the lion count?)

She is going crazy with the sleep though, pretty erratic. She must be going through a developmental stage, and learning lots of new skills. Moving all over the place in her crib, to get to her fish tank. She wants to party at night, and not sleep!! If she can't find paci, then it's on, she will throw a major hissy.

She dances like no one's business. Her favorites are "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time!" She loves for you to sing to her. On the list, are Itsy, Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinke, I'm a little Teapot, Mary had a little lamb, Little Boxes, and I am sure I am leaving some out, probably Rudolph :)

But as soon as the music starts she is moving her head, hands, and butt.
She is so much fun nowadays!

Updates

Casey is growing so fast, she is above 20 pounds, and has her 9 month checkup this Friday.

She loves to crawl, but backwards, her forward mobility is lacking for now.

She loves human food, mac and cheese, but we still mostly give her babyfood for nutrition.

She REFUSES to drink from a sippy cup. She can put her hand to her mouth, but as far as the food actually going into the mouth and not onto the floor, that is still a problem for her.

She can clap on demand now to play patty cake

She is still the happiest baby on earth unless she is sick.

She still only has one tooth

She screams bloody murder just to talk, or if you take something away she wants like toys or food

She has discovered how to pick her nose - AWESOME...so very proud of that

She pulls herself from the floor to standing position by using the couch

She loves when you sing to her, patty cake, twinkle twinkle little star, itsy bitsy spider, and mary had a little lamb. if she is irritable, this will calm her immediatley.

She goes to sleep every night watching the attached fish tank on her crib and listens to the radio every night, all night. Scout sleeps with her the majority of nights, and unless she is sick or teething, she typically sleeps all night. From 6:30pm to 5:30 am and takes 2 other naps during the day totalling usually 3 hours

I think her favorite times are sitting on the floor playing with toys, bath with dada (dont take away the tugboat daddy, or you will get an earful of high pitch scream), and anything we do outside. When it's warm that child could spend hours just touching grass outside on the lawn. She LOVES the outdoors.

She has also learned to wave goodbye and does that quite frequently now, and we dont even have to help her like before.

Her favorite word is DADA, even when she is yelling to prove her point or one of those "listen to me things" it's DADA....she has said mama maybe twice. Hmpf
