Updates

Casey is almost 18 months old.

She is a very effective communicator. She loves learning new words, and reading. Joe has several applications on his iphone that Casey just loves: they are books to read/flash cards/barnyard animals/colors/shapes etc etc. This is not a joke. She repeated the word alligator plain as day yesterday.

She now calls Kellie "Kiwi" and Na-na is now Ni-Ni

She is becoming more and more combative. She will scream "NO!" if she does not want something taken from her.
She is also so sweet, she is such the nurturer. She puts her baby doll (Baby Kara) and her Baby Pup night night by putting a blanket over them and trying to put a pacifier in their mouth.

When the phone rings she runs to it and says "Pa-Pa" and it usually is Pa-Pa.
Also, Joe and I are going to have to start spelling words in front of her. If someone slips and says "outside" she will run to the backyard and say over and over, outside, outside.

So you better be planning on taking little girl outside :)

We read 3-5 books every night. Her preference right now are any of the ones that something is hiding behind. For example, Where are babie's eyes? Behind her hat, and then she lifts the hat up and there they are. She can re-read these books those a million times. It's getting to the point where it's like OMG hide those books!

Her sleeping is pretty regular if she is not sick. She doesnt like to go to bed early really but doesnt put up too much of a fight usually. Eating is hit or miss with her.

Right now she is cutting 3 molars, and so has been cranky and not sleeping as well.
Typically as long as she has tylenol she is still joyous. She loves to be outside, out and about. She loves animals, and music, the kids at daycare and the family.

Overall, she is great and happy child. I need to update more often. I hate to think of all the little things she does everyday that I am not making a permanent record of on this blog, because work has been so busy for months now. That will be my new years resolution :)

Lately

Casey's vocabulary has expanded. She now has no trouble saying Pa-Pa and Ni-Ni
She still loves horses and all animals, and swimming and water.

She LOVES to read. She can entertain herself sitting looking at books for almost an hour. She especially loves the board pop up books but the mini size. She loves to be read to. We read every night 3 books at least. Not to mention the 3 in the tub we read over and over. She hands a book to anyone in the area to read it to her. She will do this to Joe, me or Pa-Pa, and then she "assumes the position" this is where she turns her back to you and sits directly in front of you so she can be read to. It's so cute. She is putting words together and sentences it seems like. Sometimes you know what she is talking about and sometimes you do. When she is frustrated she just points and whines. She will be glad to be out of this phase I am sure.

Her sleep at night is still sporadic, I think she has been having nightmares lately. She will say "Ma-Ma" then i go in her room and she seems dead asleep. She always knows the difference between work days and weekends. Weekends she sleeps all night till sunday night then she wakes up 3 times. ugh!

Besides that she is overall still a happy child. She is spoiled with attention, so she should be.....

and just a side thought. I cannot wait to put her in dance class.

Horsie!

What's Happening

I am so behind lately.
I am swamped at work, and never get the chance to post anymore. My girl is almost 15 months old. She is running everywhere. She jabbers constantly, still loves to dance.

Everything is either "hot" or "ta ta" which stands for "pa-pa" she is saying Mama alot more though and of course the standard Da-da

Other words are Dog, cat, Hot for either hot pavement, hot food, hot outside, or horse :)

She is good at drifiting to sleep on her own now. I went in around 7:30 last night and she was playing peek a boo with herself and her blanky. She loves her daycare and her new Bestie's over there.
Her eating has alot to be desired though. She hardly touches a thing for breakfast, but get some macaroni, spaghetti or m&m's in front of her and its ON.

Pretty consistently she wants to be outside. She will drink from the hose and loves the water
I can't wait till it's not so hot and we can actually go outside again for longer periods of time, that dont involve total submerssion in water.

It's 9am on Monday and I am already so sad the weekend is over! I miss her terribly.

Words and Jabbering

Casey has been talking up a storm lately, the words she says with success are Hi, Hello, MaMa, Dada, duck, dog, hat, toes, and I am sure there are others I am leaving out. She is adjusting well to the new house, and is sleeping all night except for the occasional one wakeup. She is happy, always laughing, and dancing baby.

Now she will go ballistic and scream shrilly like a horror movie if there is an M&M in the room. It's not pretty.

In other News

Baby Girl now has 7 teeth and her eight will be appearing shortly!
She will be walking anytime now, taking 4-5 steps at a time. As soon as she realizes what she is doing she become spaghetti legs and tumbles down.

She is learning to feed herself with a spoon, and DOES NOT want anyone's help. She is Miss Independent.

She is sleeping about 10 hours at night with a short wakeup at night to be moved to the bottom of the crib, and 3 hours during the day.

She still loves to be outside, loves the pool, loves mac & cheese, spaghetti, pizza, her new fisher price kitchen, her new pink car and wagon, and just going out and about. She is still a very happy baby.

I can't wait till she is walking!!
